1. Commitment to Open Access
The Revista Facultad de Jurisprudencia (RFJ) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) adheres to Open Access policies, promoting free and unrestricted access to scientific information. All articles published in RFJ are freely available to readers and authors from the moment of publication. The journal believes that scientific publications and research funded with public resources should be accessible to everyone.

2. Funding and Cost-Free Access
All editing, management, and publication costs of RFJ are fully covered by PUCE, ensuring that there are no fees for article processing, evaluation, or publication. RFJ does not charge any fees to authors or readers, eliminating financial barriers for participation in publishing and access to its content.

3. Copyright and Creative Commons License
Authors retain the copyright of their works and grant RFJ the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 International License), which allows:

• Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any format or medium.
• Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material under the following conditions:
  • Attribution: Proper credit must be given, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes must be indicated.
  • Non-Commercial: The material may not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Share Alike: If the material is modified, it must be distributed under the same license as the original.

4. Reuse and Self-Archiving by Authors
Authors may archive the post-print version (final approved version) of their articles in personal, institutional repositories, and academic networks such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu, or their institution's repository. Articles can be freely shared for non-commercial purposes, provided they include acknowledgment that they were originally published in RFJ along with the corresponding DOI.

5. Readers' Rights
RFJ allows readers to download, read, print, distribute, and cite articles freely and without restrictions. All content is available in multiple languages, and each article is assigned a DOI for easy access and tracking.

6. Distribution and Publication in Other Media
Authors may establish additional agreements for the distribution of their published article (e.g., including it in a book or institutional repository) as long as it is clearly stated that the work was first published in RFJ. It is recommended to include the following note:
"This article was originally published in the Revista Facultad de Jurisprudencia (RFJ) No. --, year of publication."
